About This Call
Black Box Gallery is hosting a color photography juried group photo show. The exhibition explores how contemporary photographers use color in landscape, portraiture, architecture, fashion, street, abstract, documentary, still life, narrative, conceptual, nature, and night photography.
The juror is Todd Johnson, founder and director of Black Box Gallery, who holds an MFA in Photography from the San Francisco Art Institute and has 25 years of experience in arts education and curation. The exhibition will feature 24 photographs selected for display at the gallery (December 1-25, 2024) and an additional 30 photographs for the online gallery annex. All 54 photographs will be included in a catalog available for purchase on Blurb Books.
Black Box Gallery provides free printing, matting, and framing for all selected work. Prints are produced on an Epson Stylus Pro archival inkjet printer on Epson Premium Luster Photo paper in a color-calibrated environment. Selected photographers must provide high-resolution TIFF or JPEG files. Exhibition prints are 12" x 18", 12" x 12", or 12" x 16" (other aspect ratios available). After the exhibition, prints are retained in the gallery's flat files for promotion and sale. Black Box Gallery takes a 50% commission on sales; 50% goes to the photographer. All rights remain with the photographer, and no sales or printing occur without prior consent. Entry fee is $40. Submissions limited to 5 images. Open to international photographers.
