Color Emotion at Art Works Downtown

Art Works Downtown seeks artwork for an exhibition about the relationship of color to emotion. The gallery is looking for works that primarily use color to evoke, express, or contemplate emotion or narrative.

Open to all visual arts media. Video submissions must include player, monitor, and earphones; projections are prohibited. Original artwork only—no giclees or reproductions, though editions are acceptable. Submissions must not have previously exhibited in the AWD 1337 Gallery. SF Bay Area artists only (must live within 100 miles from San Rafael, California). Entry fee is $40 for up to 3 entries, with discounts available for AWD Artist Members. Submit 1-3 work samples (images and/or video) through callforentry.org.

Entries are due December 7 at 4pm PST (11:59pm MST). Notification by email will be sent December 15 or 16. Accepted work must be hand-delivered to Art Works Downtown, 1337 Fourth Street, San Rafael between 1pm-4pm on January 6. The reception is January 12, 5-8pm, with a second reception February 9, 5-8pm. Unsold artwork pickup is February 24, 10am-2pm. Art Works Downtown retains a 40% donation upon sale. Artists who do not retrieve their work will be charged $1.00 per day storage fee; works remaining after 30 days become property of Art Works Downtown.
