Color Burst: Contemporary Photography

Black Box Gallery announces a color photography juried group photo show. The exhibition seeks contemporary color photography across all genres including landscape, portraiture, architecture, fashion, street, abstract, documentary, still life, narrative, conceptual projects, nature and night photography. The juror is Todd Johnson, founder and director of Black Box Gallery, who holds an MFA in Photography from the San Francisco Art Institute and has 25 years of experience in arts education and curation.

Entry fee is $35.00. Submissions must include 1-5 images in high resolution format. The deadline is May 7, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. The exhibition runs June 1-20, 2021. Black Box Gallery will be open by appointment only during June due to COVID-19. The juror will select 24 photographs for exhibition at the gallery and an additional 30 photographs for the online gallery annex. All 54 photographs will be included in a catalog available for purchase on Blurb Books.

Black Box Gallery provides free printing, matting, and framing for all exhibitions. Selected photographers must provide high resolution TIFF or JPEG files. Prints are produced on an Epson Stylus Pro archival inkjet printer on Epson Premium Luster Photo paper in a color-calibrated environment. Exhibition prints will be kept in a flat file after the show for future promotion and sale. Black Box Gallery takes a 50% commission on all sales, with 50% going to the photographer. All rights remain with the photographer, and no sale or printing will occur without prior consent. Artists may request that prints be for exhibition and promotion only, not for sale.
