About This Call
Studio Channel Islands, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is accepting submissions for its annual Collectors Choice Fundraising Event at The Blackboard Gallery in Camarillo, CA. Selected artwork will be donated to the event. The exhibition will be juried by Jason Horejs, owner of Xanadu Gallery in Scottsdale, AZ, and author of "Starving to Successful - The Fine Artist's Guide to Getting into Galleries and Selling More Art."
Juror's Awards include: First Place: $1,000 plus a solo exhibition at The Blackboard Gallery in 2017; Second Place: $700; Third Place: $300; People's Choice Award: $500 (voted on by ticket holders). All selected artwork will be showcased on the organization's website and event page, with each work linked to the artist's website and published in the event program. Accepted artists receive free single admission to the event on Saturday, March 12, 2016, from 6:00-9:00 p.m.
Eligibility: Open to all artists ages 18 and up. All media except video, performance, and installation. Work must be no larger than 30" in width and 48" in height with a retail value of at least $300. All submitted works must be original and created by the artist. Artwork previously exhibited at The Blackboard Gallery is permissible. Entry fee: $2.00. Submit 1-3 images. All 2D artwork must be delivered ready to hang with appropriate hardware. Pedestals will be provided for 3D artwork. Mannequins and busts will be provided for wearable art and jewelry.
