About This Call
Studio Channel Islands, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is seeking submissions of artwork to be donated for the Collectors Choice 2022 exhibition. A juror will select accepted works from submissions to participate in a month-long exhibit at The Blackboard Gallery in Camarillo, CA, closing with the annual Collectors Choice Fundraising Event. Multiple pieces may be accepted from a single artist.
Juror Sarah Russin is Executive Director at Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions. Accepted artists will be invited to a special exhibition launch to meet the Board of Directors, partners, and collectors. First place award winner receives $1,000 plus a major show opportunity; second place receives $500; third place receives $250. All selected artwork will be showcased on the organization's website and event page, with each work linked to the artist's website and published in the event program.
Eligibility: Open to artists ages 18 and up. All media except video, performance, and installation. Work should be no larger than 30" in width and 48" in height with a retail value of at least $300. All submitted works must be original and created by the artist. Artwork previously exhibited at The Blackboard Gallery is permissible. Work sample requirements: 1-4 images, 0-4 audio files, 0-4 video files (total 1-4 samples). Entry deadline: February 7, 2022. Notifications: February 11, 2022. Artwork delivery: March 1, 2022, 10am-6pm. Exhibition: March 5-26, 2022. Reception: March 5, 2022. Collectors Choice event: March 26, 2022, 6-9pm. All artwork is a donation to SCIart for the fundraising event.
