Collectors Choice 2021

Studio Channel Islands, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is seeking submissions of artwork to be donated for the Collectors Choice 2021 exhibition. A juror will select accepted works to participate in a month-long exhibit at The Blackboard Gallery in Camarillo, CA, closing with the annual Collectors Choice Fundraising Event. Juror Jo Lauria is a Los Angeles-based curator, author, and educator specializing in craft, design, and decorative arts. She is the Adjunct Curator of the American Museum of Ceramic Art and has authored more than sixteen major publications in her field.

Juror's awards include First Place: $1,000 plus an exhibit opportunity for a major show in the gallery; Second Place: $500; Third Place: $250. All accepted artists will be invited to a special exhibition launch to meet the Board of Directors, partners, and collectors. Selected artwork will be showcased on the organization's website and event page, with each work linked to the artist's website and published in the event program.

Eligibility: Open to all artists ages 18 and up. All media except video, performance, and installation. Work should be no larger than 30" in width and 48" in height with a retail value of at least $300. All submitted works must be original and created by the artist. Artwork previously exhibited at The Blackboard Gallery is permissible. Submit 1-4 images. Deadline: February 15, 2021. Notifications: February 19, 2021. Artwork delivery: March 2, 2021, 10am-6pm. Exhibition: March 6-27, 2021. Reception: March 6, 2021. Collectors Choice event: March 27, 2021, 6-9pm. Accepted artists may purchase an artist ticket for $70 for the March 27 event.
