About This Call
Studio Channel Islands, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is seeking submissions of artwork to be donated for the Collectors Choice exhibition. A juror will select accepted works to participate in a month-long exhibit at The Blackboard Gallery in Camarillo, CA, closing with the annual Collectors Choice Fundraising Event. The 2017 juror is Andi Campognone, Owner/Director of AC Projects and Museum Manager/Curator for the City of Lancaster, with over 25 years of arts experience in southern California.
Juror's awards include: First Place $1,000 plus a 2018 exhibit opportunity at The Blackboard Gallery; Second Place $500; Third Place $250; and People's Choice Award $500 (voted by attendees). All selected artwork will be showcased on the organization's website and event page, with each work linked to the artist's website and published in the event program. Accepted artists are invited to a special exhibition launch to meet the Board of Directors, partners, and collectors.
Eligibility: Open to artists ages 18 and up. All media except video, performance, and installation. Work must be no larger than 30" in width and 48" in height with a retail value of at least $350. All submitted works must be original and created by the artist. Artwork previously exhibited at The Blackboard Gallery is permissible. Submit 1-6 images. Exhibition dates: March 4-25, 2017. Reception: March 4, 2017. Collectors Choice event: March 25, 2017, 6-9pm. Artwork delivery: February 27-28, 2017, 10am-5pm. All 2D artwork must be delivered ready to hang with appropriate hardware. Pedestals will be provided for 3D artwork; mannequins and busts for wearable art and jewelry.
