About This Call
The 2022 Collab Student Design Competition invites currently enrolled college and university students to create an object for the physical world that incorporates two or more of the following characteristics: science fiction, nature, technology, transformation, movement, or sustainability.
Submissions must include an 11" x 17" full color high resolution graphic presentation, a 3-D image of the design in context and scale (maximum 3 images), and a 300-word design statement. All images must be high resolution (300dpi). Judging criteria include evidence of applied research and process, originality and creativity of the concept, and ability to be manufactured.
Winners will be announced on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at 2:30–4:30pm via Zoom, with a feedback session with judges. Prize awards: First Prize $800, Second Prize $500, Third Prize $300, and two Honorable Mentions at $200 each. A selection of winning projects will be displayed at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, published on the Museum website, and featured on the Collab/Philadelphia Museum of Art website and social media platforms.
