Cold Wax International: A Juried Exhibition

Cold Wax International: A Juried Exhibition is the first international online exhibition dedicated to showcasing the breadth of ways artists work with cold wax medium. Co-founded by Jerry McLaughlin and Rebecca Crowell of Cold Wax Academy, the exhibition invites submissions of 2D or 3D work in any stylistic approach from pure abstraction to realism that involves the use of cold wax. Selected artworks will be showcased for two months on the Cold Wax Academy website and promoted to an international audience of over 15,000 subscribers through email, Instagram, and Facebook.

Prizes totaling more than $750 will be awarded: 1st Place - $400, 2nd Place - $250, 3rd Place - $100, and 3 Honorable Mentions - membership or gift certificates. The juror is Dan Addington, artist and owner of Addington Gallery in Chicago, Illinois. On July 10 at 11am ET, Dan will join a live session in the Cold Wax Academy Community Group to discuss the jurying process and select works. This session is free and open to all.

Entry fee is $35 for non-members or $25 for current Cold Wax Academy members (must have been a member for at least three months prior to entry). Submissions must include 1-3 images in jpg/jpeg format, at least 1500 pixels on the smallest side, no larger than 5MB each. Artwork must use cold wax medium to a substantial degree and integral to how the work was made. All media used must be described. Exhibition dates are July 1 - August 31, 2024. Jury dates are May 21 - June 19, 2024.
