Coeur d'Alene Art Currents 2022

The Coeur d'Alene "ArtCurrents" program consists of sculptures on loan from artists residing in the Northwest United States and British Columbia. Artists submit applications for placement of their sculptures in the Coeur d'Alene downtown area, Riverstone, and Atlas Waterfront Park areas for a period of one year, with an option to renew for a second year. The two-year period will run from the beginning of October 2022 through the end of September 2024.

Artwork must be a minimum of 36" tall, three-dimensional, stand-alone pieces designed and fabricated for long-term outdoor durability and ease of maintenance. Applications must include two to four digital images taken from front and back viewpoints, installation requirements, and a written statement explaining the piece's inspiration and how it fits into the Coeur d'Alene community. Selected artists will receive a $1,000 stipend for the first year and a second $1,000 stipend at the start of the second year. Artists are responsible for transporting artwork to and from its location and associated transport costs. Temporary plaques with the art piece name and purchase information will be included with each installation. Displayed art pieces will be offered for sale with the City of Coeur d'Alene receiving a 25% commission.

Eligibility is open to all artists residing in Idaho, Montana, Utah, Wyoming, Washington, Oregon, and British Columbia. Artist teams are eligible to apply, including teams of artists from multiple disciplines. Selection panelists and their immediate family members are not eligible. Applications must be received through the CaFÉ website no later than 5:00 p.m. PST on July 8, 2022.
