Coding Creativity: Exploring the Intersection of Art and Algorithms

Hera Gallery invites artists to explore the intersection of art and artificial intelligence in this juried exhibition. The exhibition examines how AI changes the way we make, look at, and understand art. Key questions include: Can art be made by or with the aid of non-human intelligence? Does AI democratize art or diminish its value? Will it make the human hand irrelevant or lead to a revival of seasoned traditions? Hera Gallery seeks work in all media—2D, 3D, and video—that tackles these questions. 3D work is limited to 100 lbs and must fit through a 5'10" x 6'8" door. 2D work must also fit through the same door. The exhibition is juried by Kate McNamara of Providence College.

Application deadline is August 14th, 2023. Entry fee is $35.00. Artists may submit up to 3 work samples total, which can include images, audio, or video (minimum 1 sample required). Hera Gallery will notify accepted artists by September 5th, 2023. The exhibition runs October 14th through November 11th, 2023. Artwork must be delivered to the gallery by Friday, October 5th, 2023. As an artist-run nonprofit, Hera takes no commission on sales in national juried exhibitions; 100% of sales go directly to the artist.

Artists are responsible for all shipping costs and return shipping. A prepaid return shipping label must be included. Artists are also responsible for their own insurance; Hera Gallery assumes no responsibility for damage, loss, or theft. Hera Gallery reserves the right to photograph work for publicity and may use artists' names, likenesses, and artwork in exhibition materials and documentation.
