Coastal Beauty

Coastal Beauty is an online juried exhibition open to all 2D media (excluding photography and digital art). The theme celebrates the beauty of the coast, nature, and communities built around it. The juror is Susan Stranz. Over $300 in cash prizes will be awarded.

Eligibility requirements: Work must not have been exhibited in a previous Rhode Island Watercolor Society juried show, must have been completed within the last 10 years, and must not be copied from copyrighted material or created under the direct guidance of another artist or from a tutorial. Work may be created in a class or workshop using only the artist's own reference material. Acceptable mediums include watercolor, gouache, acrylic, oils, ink, casein, egg tempera, and any other 2D media on 2D surfaces. Photography, 3D media, reproductions, and digital art are not acceptable.

Submit 1-3 images at $15 per image for non-members or $10 per image for members. The exhibition runs August 30 – October 2, with an online opening reception on Thursday, September 4 at 6pm ET on Zoom. Acceptance notifications will be sent August 29. Work may be listed as not for sale by entering 0 in the price section or by contacting [email protected]. If work is sold through the online gallery, the Rhode Island Watercolor Society receives 35% of the sale. No accepted entry may be withdrawn prior to the close of the exhibition.
