About This Call
This is an online exhibition for soft pastel artwork. The submission fee is $30 for up to 2 pieces. All submitted pieces will be included in the show.
Artwork requirements: Work must be at least 80% soft pastel and less than 3 years old. Work may be of any size. Work must be based exclusively on the artist's own photo reference, life set-up, plein air experience, concept, and composition. Work must be directly and individually drawn or painted by the artist, not traced or created over a base photo. Work done in a class, workshop, or under instructor guidance is not permitted. Work that has previously been in another CMPS show or won a top award in any national show is not eligible. Artists may check the "Developing Artist" box if they qualify for and wish to be considered for Developing Artist awards.
Work may be priced or marked Not for Sale (NFS). Work marked For Sale must be available exclusively through CMPS from 4/30-6/9. Prices should reflect market value and cannot be changed after submission. CMPS will offer for-sale work on its online website store and notify artists of sales. Artists are responsible for promptly shipping or delivering sold work and notifying CMPS when delivery is completed. CMPS retains a 15% commission on sales, with the artist's share sent within 30 days of show close. Submissions must be made online at ShowSubmit using high-quality JPEG image files at least 1500 pixels on the longest edge with a maximum file size of 30MB. Images should be cropped to show only the artwork with no visible matting, frames, or background distractions, and oriented correctly. Entry fees are nonrefundable and must be submitted by the entry deadline. Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. For questions, contact Jane Robbins at [email protected].
