About This Call
CLIP is an international exhibition of works on paper that showcases exceptional contemporary art made on and/or with paper. The exhibition is juried by Ghislaine Fremaux, Assistant Professor of Painting at Texas Tech University and artist-in-residence at the Charles Adams Studio Project. The exhibition opens September 6, 2019, during First Friday Art Trail at 5&J Gallery (1106 5th Street, Lubbock, TX 79401) and runs through September 30, 2019. A juror talk and awards presentation will be held at 8pm on opening night.
The call is open to international artists. All work must be on or of paper, including watercolor, pastels, charcoal, graphite, colored pencil, pen & ink, gouache, acrylic, paper sculpture, alternative or darkroom photographic processes, collage, drawing, book arts, and hand-pulled printmaking processes. Strictly digital artwork is ineligible. Work must be original and produced within the last two years, not exceeding 90 inches in the longest dimension. Artists may submit 1-3 artworks per application. The entry fee is $25 per application (nonrefundable). Accepted artists are responsible for shipping work to and from the gallery. Artwork must arrive ready-to-exhibit between August 19-26, 2019. Pick-up or return shipping occurs September 30-October 4, 2019. Charles Adams Studio Project does not insure work; artists exhibit at their own risk. Cash prizes will be awarded by the juror. For questions, contact Victoria Marie Bee at [email protected].
