Clingers

Kat Payge Art invites photographers to apply to Clingers, a photographic group exhibition running October 26th to November 28th. The exhibition explores the daily rituals we grasp to get us through life, examining themes of permanence, attachment, and what we hold onto—whether drugs, religion, expectations, people, security, material possessions, beliefs, or music. The exhibition asks: Are you holding on to something that holds you back? Are you freed because of what you grasp?

Submissions must be photography only, with accepted artwork not exceeding 24" x 24" in either direction. Artists may submit 1-3 images. Entry fee is $30. Artwork must be ready to hang and wired (sawtooth hangers will not be accepted). Accepted artwork is due October 19, 2018. Artwork pick-up is November 29-30, 2018. Kat Payge Art is not responsible for artwork left in the gallery after November 30.

The exhibition will be juried by artist Emily Scott. During the opening reception on October 26th at 6pm during the Third Friday Artwalk at the Art District on Santa Fe, Emily Scott will host an interactive community art project using polaroids, asking visitors "what is happiness?" Various art materials will be provided for community members to manipulate photographs and create art together.
