Climate Change

Climate Change aims to inspire stewardship of the planet by showcasing artists' visions of adaptation and responses to our changing environment. The exhibition is open to all visual art media and is restricted to San Francisco Bay Area artists who live within 100 miles from San Rafael, California 94901. Original artwork only; no giclees, reproductions, or works previously exhibited in the 1337 Gallery. Submissions must not exceed seven feet in any dimension. Outdoor sculptures or installations are encouraged, with 1-4 selected for exhibition and a $200 stipend.

Entry fee is $40 for up to 3 entries, with discounts available for Art Works Downtown Artist Members. Submissions are accepted only through CaFE.org (callforentry.org); hardcopy, email, and disk submissions are not accepted. Work samples may include up to 3 images and/or 3 videos (3 total samples maximum). Image files must be JPEG format, no smaller than 1920 pixels on the longest side, 72 ppi/dpi resolution, and 5 MB maximum. Accepted artists will be notified by email and phone by December 11. Artwork delivery is required January 2, 2015, between 10am-4pm at Art Works Downtown, 1337 Fourth St., San Rafael. Wall-hung work must be securely wired; video art must supply a monitor and player. The reception is January 8, 5-8pm, with a second reception February 12, 5-8pm. Unsold artwork pickup is February 27, 10am-4pm. Art Works Downtown accepts a 40% donation upon sale. Artists are responsible for retrieving work; storage fees of $1.00 per day apply after pickup deadline, and works remaining after 30 days become property of Art Works Downtown.
