Class Act 2023

The Gallery of Contemporary Mosaics, Chicago announces "Class Act 2023," an annual juried exhibition featuring works by past and present students of The Chicago Mosaic School (2005-present). The exhibition showcases diverse contemporary mosaic art created by local, national, and international artists who have studied at the school. The exhibition runs January 20 - March 4, 2023 at the gallery and will be juried by the curatorial board of The Chicago Mosaic School.

Eligibility is open to prior CMS students. Artists may submit up to three pieces; each application is for one piece with a $25 entry fee per submission. Submissions must include at least two digital photos per application (overall and detail image) in 300 dpi jpeg format. All work must be original design with no copies, reproductions, or copyrighted material. Decorative art (tables, mirrors, vases, boxes, etc.) will not be considered. 2D work must not exceed 36" in either direction without frame and 25 lbs. 3D work must be stable and able to be secured on a 12" square pedestal. All work must be ready to hang/exhibit and properly wired for hanging upon arrival.

All exhibited works must be for sale with a 40% commission to GoCM. Artists are responsible for shipping and insuring accepted work in a sturdy, reusable box or crate. Return shipping and insurance must be prepaid with labels included. No packing peanuts are permitted. Hand deliveries are accepted no later than January 14, 2023. GoCM is not responsible for loss, damage, or deterioration of artwork while in its possession. Work not picked up 10 days after the show ends will not be held. GoCM reserves the right to reject any work that differs from the submitted image or is deemed too dangerous or fragile to display.
