About This Call
Clark County Open Studios is a juried art event for visual artists and artisans in Clark County working in all media. The event offers artists an opportunity to gain recognition, open their studio doors to the public, and show and sell their work. For the community, Open Studios is a free self-guided tour that enhances awareness of local artists and enriches the cultural life of Clark County neighborhoods.
The Open Studios tour takes place November 7-8, 2020, 10 am to 5 pm. A preview exhibit and artists reception will be held on Friday, November 6, 2020, 5-9 pm at Art at the CAVE Gallery, 108 E Evergreen Blvd, Vancouver, WA 98660. Artist benefits include expanded audience reach, sales opportunities, marketing support through print, web, and social media, publication in a full-color guidebook and online directory with up to 5 images and website link, and networking opportunities. One work from each participant will be featured in the preview exhibit and available for sale, with the hosting gallery receiving a 50% commission.
Participating artists must have a regular, ongoing studio workspace for creating art located within Clark County, Washington. During Open Studios, artists must exhibit a minimum of 15 pieces of original art created within the last three years. Reproductions may be displayed with restrictions: maximum 20% of display space, must be clearly labeled, and an explanation of the reproduction process must be posted. The application fee is $25, with a participation fee of $125 due by June 15th upon acceptance. Accepted artists will be notified on June 10th. Applications must be submitted online and include five digital images of artwork, one studio space image, and a brief artist statement (approximately 50 words). Jurors will evaluate submissions based on originality/creativity and craftsmanship/use of materials or media.
