Cladogram: 2nd KMA International Juried Biennial

The Katonah Museum of Art invites submissions for Cladogram: 2nd KMA International Juried Biennial, running July 11 to September 19, 2021. The exhibition, juried by Yasmeen Siddiqui, brings together visual artists, sound artists, book artists, craft-based artists, poets and authors whose work explores connections between past and present. This includes work that engages with personal or family history; examines the idea and form of the archive or how historical objects and ideas are organized, categorized and displayed; borrows from the history of art; or challenges the dominant narrative of art history and questions what and who that history includes and excludes.

The KMA seeks to present a broad range of contemporary work created by artists based locally, regionally and globally, with the goal of building networks of artists around the world. Awards will be granted for the top three submissions: $2,000 for 1st Place, $1,500 for 2nd Place, and $1,000 for 3rd Place, plus a $700 KMAA Award.

Artists may submit up to six works in any media. Entry fee is $35 for non-members and $25 for Katonah Museum Artists' Association members. Image files should be JPEG or JPG format (maximum 5 MB, minimum 1200 pixels on longest side). Audio files should be AIFF, WAV, XMF or MP3 format (maximum 10 MB, minimum 96 bit rate). Video files should be 3GP, WMV, AVI, MOV, ASF, MPG, MP4, M2T, MKV or M2TS format (maximum 100 MB, minimum 640 x 480 resolution, minimum 12 fps). Written work may be submitted as PDF, TXT, DOC or DOCX (maximum 2 MB). Two-dimensional works may be no larger than 8 x 8 feet including frame. Three-dimensional works are limited to 7 feet high x 5 x 5 feet including pedestal. No work shall exceed 300 pounds. All artwork must be ready to install. Deadline for submission is April 2, 2021. Notification of accepted artists will be sent by email and web posting by April 30, 2021. All artwork must be delivered by July 2-3, 2021. Pick-up is September 20, 2021, 8 am to 8 pm. Artwork not picked up will incur a $50 per day storage fee.
