Cityscapes Juried Show: City Life - Night & Day

The Rice Gallery of Fine Art is accepting submissions of original painted works for its 7th Annual National Juried Show with the theme "City Life - Night & Day." The Best of Show Prize is $1,500. Subjects may include cityscapes, city views, city skylines, city nocturnes, city sunrises and sunsets, city lights, city traffic, city architecture, city buildings and destinations, city transportation, and city dwellers. Submissions must be original paintings and do not need to depict your hometown—they can be your favorite city to visit or a place you've dreamed of living.

Artists may submit 1 to 5 images of original paintings to be evaluated individually by a panel of jurors comprised of experienced fine art curators and professional gallery personnel. The non-refundable application fee is $35, payable online via CAFÉ. All selected paintings will be eligible for multiple cash prizes, including the $1,500 Best of Show Prize. The exhibition opens to the public on Friday, February 25th, 2022 at The Rice Gallery of Fine Art in Overland Park, KS, and runs through Friday, March 25th, 2022. Selected works will be displayed for sale in the gallery and included in The Rice Gallery's online store, with promotion via Facebook and Instagram. Juried selections will be announced by Monday, January 31st, 2022.

All selected paintings must be consigned for sale with a predetermined retail price provided by the artist at submission. The Rice Gallery collects a 45% commission on sales. Artists are responsible for all shipping expenses to and from the gallery, with shipments required to arrive by Monday, February 14th, 2022. Local drop-off and pickup options are available by appointment. Unsold works will be returned via shipment or local pickup after the exhibition concludes.
