About This Call
The City of Tamarac invites artists nationwide to submit original three-dimensional sculptures for the Inspiration Way Sculpture on Loan Program. The exhibition will be located along the corridor of Nob Hill Road between Commercial Boulevard and McNab Road, with an 18-month duration. Florida artists are encouraged to apply. Previous experience with outdoor public art installation is preferred but not necessary.
Selected artists will receive a $3,500 honorarium per artwork, paid in two installments ($1,750 after installation and $1,750 after removal). A $1,000 cash award will be given for Best of Show. The City has a possible purchase budget of $60,000. Artists are responsible for installation and de-installation coordination with the City's Public Art Administrators, and must carry General Liability insurance naming the City as an additional insured, proof of Automobile insurance, and Workers' Compensation insurance or exemption during installation and de-installation. The City will insure each work against damage or theft for the duration of the exhibition and will produce publicity materials. A 25% commission on works sold during the exhibition will remain with the City.
Artwork must be durable and suitable for South Florida's subtropical climate with minimal ongoing maintenance. Sculptures should be designed to be securely anchored to a concrete pad. Submit 3-10 images via CAFÉ software by Monday, October 13, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Selection will be based on artistic merit, appropriateness for the sites, technical feasibility, safety and maintenance considerations, and diversity of style and media. Final artist selection is scheduled for Tuesday, October 21, 2025, with installation planned for the week of February 20, 2026. Contact [email protected] with questions.
