About This Call

The City of Tamarac invites artists nationwide to participate in the Inspiration Way 2025 Sculpture on Loan Program. This one-year exhibition will feature original three-dimensional artwork displayed along the corridor of Nob Hill Road between Commercial Boulevard and McNab Road. The program aims to enhance quality of life for residents, increase awareness of public art, promote Tamarac as a cultural destination, and provide a showcase for local, regional, and national artists.

Eligibility is open to all artists nationwide creating original three-dimensional artwork suitable for outdoor display. Florida artists are encouraged to apply. Previous experience with outdoor installation of public work is preferred but not necessary. Artwork must be durable and require minimal maintenance, designed to withstand South Florida's subtropical climate with intense sun and seasonal heavy rain. Sculptures should be designed to be securely anchored to a concrete pad provided by the City.

Selected artists will receive a $2,500 stipend per artwork, paid in two installments: $1,250 after installation and $1,250 after removal. A $1,000 cash award will be given for Best of Show. The City has a possible purchase budget of $60,000. Artists are responsible for installation and de-installation coordination with the City's Public Art Administrators. General Liability insurance naming the City as an additional insured, proof of Automobile insurance, and Workers' Compensation insurance or exemption are required during installation and de-installation. The City will insure each work against damage or theft during the exhibition and will produce publicity materials. A 25% commission on works sold during the exhibition will remain with the City. Applications must include 3-10 images and are due September 5, 2024. Final artist selection is scheduled for September 17, 2024, with installation planned for the week of February 20, 2025.
