City of Soldotna Library Card Design Contest

The Soldotna Public Library invites artists of all ages to submit library card designs for a 2026 design contest. Winning artwork will be featured on limited edition library cards distributed throughout the community.

Submissions are accepted from February 17 – March 31, 2026. A panel of judges will review entries and select finalists in three categories, followed by community voting to determine winners. The timeline includes preliminary judging April 15–30, public voting May 1–15, and recognition of winners at the Library Card Sign-up Month Kick Off Event on September 1.

Designs must be original artwork celebrating libraries and Soldotna, Alaska. All submissions must include the Soldotna Library logo and fit within provided templates without interfering with logo legibility. Submissions cannot include stock photos, borrowed images, AI-generated imagery, product logos, copyrighted characters, brand names, obscene content, violent imagery, or defamatory material. Hand-rendered submissions must be drawn on white paper using pencils, pens, crayons, markers, paint, or mixed media. Digital submissions created with graphic design software are accepted as high-quality JPEG or JPG files under 5 MB with dimensions of 1,425 pixels or greater on the longest side. Artists may not use AI art generators to create designs.

Submissions are made online through Call for Entry (CaFE) at the provided link, or in-person by downloading and completing an entry form available at the library. Artists must create a free CaFE account to submit online. Original artwork should be retained by artists for potential request by the City of Soldotna.
