City of Overland Park 2019 National Juried Art Show

2019 Overland Park Art at the Center Juried Exhibition. Show dates: April 5, 2019 through May 31, 2019. Opening Reception: Friday, April 5, 2019, 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. Juror: Johne Richardson.

This exhibit features all manner of art: paintings, film and digital photography, sculpture, video, collage, textiles, jewelry, ceramics, and mixed media. Entry fee is $25 for up to 4 images. Submission deadline: February 11, 2019. Notification: February 18, 2019. Work samples may include 1-4 images, up to 1 audio file, and up to 1 video file.

Awards: Best of Show - $2,500; Second Place - $1,500; Third Place - $1,000; Four Honorable Mention Awards - $250 each; People's Choice Award - $200 (selected at Opening Reception). Awards sponsored by the Friends of Overland Park Arts. Acceptance at the image judging stage does not necessarily guarantee inclusion in the exhibition. Artwork must be received ready to display. Framed art must weigh no more than 30 lbs. Hanging wire must be at least 100# weight (#3 wire). Strip framing and saw tooth hangers are forbidden. Stretched canvas may be unframed only if sides are painted (gallery wrap). Floor sculptures or pedestal works must be independently stable. Works that include video must either supply the presentation equipment or be playable by a standard DVD player and television. All art is insured against damage by the general public. In the event a piece is damaged, the City will cover the cost of repair provided the cost does not exceed 75% of the listed price. If a piece is damaged beyond repair, the artist will be paid 75% of list price. The gallery accepts no liability for damages incurred during shipping. Work not collected within 45 days by the artist or designated representative will be deemed abandoned.
