About This Call
The City of Loveland Art in Public Places program seeks artists for The Art Advocacy Project 2D (commonly known as TAAP 2D) in the Loveland Public Library's Central Galleria. This popular public art exhibit is a one-year on-loan program designed to promote regional artists through the public display of their artworks. Selected artworks may be for sale; however, this is not required. All artworks will be displayed at the Loveland Public Library from late March 2026 until late February 2027. Participating artists will be paid an honorarium of $350.00.
Colorado artists working in two-dimensional media are encouraged to apply to this annual exhibition. This project is open to artists (18 years or older) at any stage of their career who wish to display their work. The project welcomes a wide variety of media, including less common mediums such as fiber, charcoal, mixed media, etc. Applications will be evaluated by a jury panel comprised of representatives from Art in Public Places (AIPP) and citizen volunteers.
Since 2022, AIPP has teamed up with the Loveland Poet Laureate committee to showcase poetry inspired by the artwork on display. Selected artists may need to spend some time discussing their artwork with the poet and should plan to attend the Artist Talk and Poetry Reading Reception on Saturday, March 28, 2026. Artwork must be valued at $2,500 or less, professionally fabricated and framed with protective glass when applicable, and ready to hang with D-ring hardware. Due to space limitations, artwork larger than 3' x 3' (36" x 36") will not be considered.
