About This Call
The City of Loveland Art in Public Places Program seeks outdoor sculpture to be placed in Downtown Loveland as part of The Art Advocacy Project (TAAP). Sculptors are encouraged to participate in this one-year sculpture exhibition scheduled from May 2021 to May 2022. Selected artists will be awarded an honorarium of $2,000, and installed artwork may be available for sale.
This call is open to all US resident artists working in three-dimensional media with durable outdoor materials. Artists must own the rights to their artwork, and sculptures must be available for the full one-year contract duration. Submissions must include three professional images clearly showing front and back views with evident scale. All work must be professionally constructed of durable materials that will withstand outdoor elements; design concepts will not be considered. Artists may submit up to 2 sculptures, each with three images, along with dimensions, weight, and stated insurance value. Sculptures will be placed on a 3½' x 3½' plinth in a well-traveled shopping/gallery streetscape. Installation should use welded tabs or similar easy-install methods. Selected artists are responsible for transportation to and from the installation site.
The City of Loveland will install a recognition plaque with the title, medium, artist name, and contact phone number. All sculptures will be listed on the Art in Public Places web pages and in TAAP promotional materials. If artwork is sold, the Art in Public Places Program will retain a 20% commission of the purchase value.
