About This Call
The City of Loveland Art in Public Places Program seeks outdoor sculpture to be placed in Downtown Loveland as part of The Art Advocacy Project (TAAP). Sculptors are encouraged to participate in this one-year sculpture exhibition scheduled from May 2022 to May 2023. Selected artists will be awarded an honorarium of $2,000, and installed artwork may be available for sale.
This call is open to all artists working in three-dimensional media with durable outdoor materials. Artists must be US residents and own the rights to the artwork. Up to 2 sculptures may be submitted, with 1 image per sculpture clearly showing scale. All submissions must be professionally constructed of durable materials that will withstand the elements; design concepts will not be juried. Provide all dimensions, weight, and stated insurance value. Sculptures will be placed on a 3½' x 3½' plinth in a well-traveled shopping/gallery streetscape. Very large sculptures (7'h+) will be considered as space allows. Installation method should be welded tabs or similar easy-install method. Selected artists are responsible for transportation to and from the installation site. The City will install a recognition plaque with title, medium, artist name, and contact phone number. All sculptures will be listed on the Art in Public Places web pages and TAAP promotional material. If artwork is sold, the Art in Public Places Program retains a 20% commission of the purchase value.
Application deadline: February 1, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Jury panel review: February 7 – March 4, 2022. Artists notified by March 8, 2022. Selected artists must enter into City Contract by March 22, 2022. Artwork delivery in mid-late May 2022.
