About This Call
The Art Advocacy Project 2D (TAAP 2D) is a one-year on-loan program designed to promote regional artists through the public display of their artworks and provide a means for artwork sales. This project is open to all Colorado artists working in two-dimensional media. Selected artworks may be for sale; however, this is not required.
Unique two-dimensional works will be showcased in the Loveland Public Library's Central Galleria starting in late February 2025 and remaining on display until mid to late February 2026. This project is suitable for artists 18 years and older at any stage of their career. The program welcomes a wide variety of mediums, and artists working with less dominant mediums such as fiber, charcoal, and mixed media are especially encouraged to apply. Selected artists will receive an honorarium of $350.00. Since 2022, the project has partnered with the Loveland Poet Laureate committee to showcase a poem inspired by each artwork. If selected, the artist will collaborate with a poet who will compose a poem related to the artwork. An Artist Talk and Poetry Reading Reception will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, for selected artists who choose to attend.
Artwork must be museum "ready to hang" with D-ring hardware already installed, professionally fabricated and framed with protective glass when applicable, and durable for public display in a high-traffic corridor. Artwork must not exceed 3' x 3' (36" x 36") including the frame and must be valued at $2,500 or less. Artwork must be suitable for viewers of all ages. Selected artwork must remain on display for the entire program duration; exceptions are made for photographs (part of a limited edition) which may be sold and replaced within the first six months. Artists must submit one image of the artwork with clear labeling and dimensions including the frame. Jury panel review occurs January 7 – February 6, 2025, with selected artists notified by February 7, 2025.
