About This Call
The Art Advocacy Project 2D (TAAP 2D) is a one-year on-loan program designed to promote regional artists through the public display of their artworks and provides a means for artwork sales. This project is open to all Colorado artists working in two-dimensional media. Selected artworks may be for sale; however, this is not required.
Unique two-dimensional works of art will be showcased in the Loveland Public Library's Central Galleria, with display running from late February 2024 until mid to late February 2025. A wide variety of mediums have been shown through this annual project, and less dominant mediums like fiber, charcoal, and mixed media are encouraged to apply. Selected artists will receive an honorarium of $350.00. This year, the project includes a collaboration with the Loveland Poet Laureate group, where a poem will be created specifically in response to each selected artwork and displayed alongside it. Selected artists agree to work with a poet and may be asked to discuss their artwork with the poet. An Artist Talk and Poetry Reading Reception is scheduled for March 30, 2024, for selected artists who choose to attend.
Artwork must be museum "ready to hang" with D-ring hardware, professionally fabricated and framed with protective glass when applicable. Artwork must be durable for public display in a high-traffic corridor and cannot exceed 3' x 3' (36" x 36") including the frame. Selected artwork must remain on display for the duration of the program, with exceptions made for photography (limited edition photographs may be sold and replaced within the first six months). Artists may submit one image with artwork title, dimensions including frame, and artist statement. Artwork must be original, created by the submitting artist, and appropriate for young viewers. Submission deadline: December 31, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. MST. Jury review: January 3-30, 2024. Selected artists will be notified by February 6, 2024, and must deliver artwork by February 23, 2024.
