About This Call

The Art Advocacy Project 2D (TAAP 2D) is a one-year on-loan program designed to promote regional artists through the public display of their artworks and provides a means for artwork sales. This project is open to all Colorado artists working in two-dimensional media. Selected artworks may be for sale; however, this is not required.

Seven new two-dimensional works of art will be showcased in the Loveland Public Library's Central Galleria, with selected artworks displayed from late February 2023 until mid-February 2024. Applications will be reviewed by a jury panel consisting of Art in Public Places representatives and public volunteers. New to the program this year, the Loveland Art in Public Places collaborates with the Loveland Poet Laureate Committee to add a poetry component to each artwork selected for this on-loan exhibit. Artists submitting their artwork must agree to have a poet create a poem relating to their artwork if accepted for display. The poem will be displayed near the art at the library. Selected artists will have a time commitment of approximately 3 hours total: 1 hour for an interview with the poet and 2 hours for a public reception (optional attendance).

Selected artists will receive an honorarium of $350.00. Artwork must be museum "ready to hang" with D-ring hardware, professionally fabricated, framed with protective glass when applicable, and durable for public display. Artists may submit up to two different works. Artwork must be original and created by the submitting artist (exceptions for photographic editions). Artwork larger than 4' x 4' may be considered but may not be easily accommodated. Photographs that are part of a limited edition may be sold and replaced within the first six months of hanging. All other artwork must remain on display for the duration of the program. Submission deadline: Monday, January 2, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. MST. Selected artists will be notified by Tuesday, February 7, 2023.
