About This Call
City of Lone Tree invites photographers to submit work for the Exploring the Light Photo Show 2017, running March 16 - May 17, 2017 at the Lone Tree Arts Center. Photographers must be local to Colorado and able to deliver and pick up their photos in person.
Eligible photographers may enter up to 3 images. Images must be originals executed and altered by the photographer only, completed within the last 3 years, and not previously shown in a Lone Tree Photo Show. Images must be non-offensive to a general audience, for sale, and submitted with finished frame size and sales price. Images cannot display the artist's name or identifying marks on the front; signatures on the back are acceptable. Photographers may submit in multiple categories: Animals, Architecture, Landscape, Black & White, or Human Element (showing a person or subject in the grand landscape). Entry fee is $35 (non-refundable), payable via credit card through CaFE or check made payable to the City of Lone Tree.
All images must be delivered framed and ready to hang, meeting gallery quality standards with reinforced hardware and taut picture wire suitable for the Arakawa Hanging System. Framed images must not exceed 48" or weigh more than 35lbs. Images are juried by blind jury review. Total cash awards are estimated at $3,250, including Best of Show, first/second/third place in each category, and People's Choice. Award winners receive gallery space at the Lone Tree Arts Center for several weeks after the show. All images must remain on display through the duration of the exhibit. The Lone Tree Arts Center retains 20% commission on all sales. Drop-off is March 15th, 10am-12pm; pick-up is May 18th, 9am-11am. Juror: Joseph Roybal, professional fine art landscape photographer based in Denver.
