About This Call
The City of Lakes Art Fair takes place October 10-11, 2026 (Saturday 10am-6pm, Sunday 10am-5pm) on the northwest side of Bde Maka Ska, Minneapolis' largest Chain of Lakes, located between Lake and 32nd Street. The fair will feature approximately 200 artist booths showcasing fine art and handmade goods in a scenic lakeside setting with easy access to trails and neighborhood amenities.
This juried art fair is produced by Homespun Events and accepts all types of work—from traditional fine art to contemporary craft—that is high quality, made by the applicant, well curated, professionally presented, and shoppable. Artists are evaluated by category based on craftsmanship, originality, presentation, and consistency. Applicants must submit five images (four of recent work and one booth image) and pay a $25 non-refundable jury fee per media. Approximately 200 artists will be selected from an average of 260 applications. Jury results will be sent July 24, 2026.
Booth fees are $350 for standard lakeside booths (10x10 feet minimum) and $300 for standard plaza booths (10x10 feet minimum), with premium and corner booths available at higher costs. Single or double booths (10x20 feet minimum) are available. Application fee is $25. Booth fees and ST-19s are due by August 14, 2026. Artist setup occurs October 9, 2026, with assigned load-in times. All artists must be onsite during the festival and keep booths open all hours. The event is zero waste—all vendors must use recyclable or compostable materials; plastic bags and non-recyclable packaging are not allowed. Artists are responsible for tent setup that can withstand wind and rain (40 pounds per tent leg minimum safety standard). All work must be for sale, and artists retain 100% of sales. No AI art or buy/sell items are permitted. Award winners (Best in Show, Best Booth Presentation, Most Engaging) receive automatic entry and 50% off booth fees for the 2026 fair. Cancellations by August 21, 2026 receive full refund; August 22-September 11 receive 50% refund; no refunds after September 11, 2026.
