About This Call
The City of Lakes Art Fair takes place at Bde Maka Ska, one of Minneapolis' most iconic and scenic urban lakes surrounded by trails, beaches, and sweeping skyline views. This juried art fair is produced by Homespun Events, the team behind the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden Art Fair and the Minnehaha Falls Art Fair—ranked #5 in the nation and #1 in Minnesota by Sunshine Artist Magazine in 2024. The fair will feature approximately 150 artist booths showcasing a diverse mix of fine art and handmade goods.
The fair is open to all types of work, from traditional fine art to contemporary craft, as long as it meets the following criteria: high quality and made by the applicant, well curated and professionally presented, and shoppable and engaging for a wide audience. Artists are evaluated by category based on craftsmanship, originality, presentation, and consistency through a competitive jury process. Each artist must submit five images: four of recent work and one booth image. A $25 non-refundable jury fee is required.
The event takes place October 11-12, 2025 (Saturday 10am–6pm, Sunday 10am–5pm) on the northwest side of Bde Maka Ska. Standard booth fees are $350 for single booths (10x10 feet) and $700 for double booths (10x20 feet). Awards include Best in Show, Best Booth Presentation, and Most Engaging, with winners receiving automatic entry and 50% off their booth fee for 2026. This is a zero waste event requiring all vendors to use recyclable or compostable materials. Artist setup takes place Friday with assigned load-in times, and overnight security is provided Friday and Saturday nights.
