About This Call
The City of Lafayette Arts & Cultural Resources Department invites Colorado artists to submit work to be displayed in City facilities starting Fall 2025 through 2026. This is a no-fee, juried exhibition where artwork will be selected by a panel of City staff. Work will typically hang for a two-month time period. Venues include the Lafayette Public Library and the Lafayette Senior Center.
Artists must submit 5-15 images of their work for review. All works must be suitable for public display; 2D media is preferred, and wall-hung 3D media will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Selected artists are responsible for installing and hanging their own shows and must provide all necessary tools and materials, such as a step stool. The artist or a proxy must be available to hang the work. All artwork must be display-ready, including matting, framing, and hanging wire or D-rings (no sawtooth hangers). Artists must provide an artist's statement and labels for each piece with title, media, and price or "NFS" (not for sale).
Artists are responsible for insuring their artwork; the City of Lafayette does not provide insurance and is not liable for theft or damage. Artists handle all sales transactions directly with buyers. The City may photograph artwork for publicity, documentation, and educational purposes unless notified otherwise in writing. Artists must pick up their work at the end of the exhibition; unclaimed art becomes the property of the City's Cultural Resources Division. The application deadline is May 15, 2025. Preference may be given to local artists.
