About This Call
The City of Lafayette Arts & Cultural Resources Department invites Colorado artists and arts organizations to submit work to be displayed in city facilities. This is a no-fee, juried exhibition where artwork will be selected by a panel of city staff and typically hang for a two-month period. The artist or a proxy must be available to hang their own work. Currently booking for the Lafayette Public Library, with additional facilities to be added as COVID protocols allow.
Artwork must be suitable for public display. Two-dimensional media is preferred; wall-hung 3-dimensional media will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis depending on available space. All art must be display ready, including matting, framing, and hanging wire compatible with the city galleries' hanging system. Artists must provide their own labels with title, media, price, and contact information, as well as an artist's statement either framed and able to be hung or in a clear acrylic stand.
Submit 5-15 images of your work via CaFE, along with artist's contact information, an image list (size, date, media), and an artist's statement focusing on the submitted work. Artists are responsible for installing and hanging their shows, providing their own insurance, handling all sales transactions, and picking up artwork at the end of the exhibition. Preference may be given to local artists or arts organizations. The application deadline is March 15, 2022.
