City of Greeley: Sculpture on Loan

The City of Greeley is accepting artist entries for the 14th Annual Sculpture on Loan Program. The program is open to professional and amateur artists of all backgrounds. Each artist may enter up to three works. Judging is based on the originality of the piece, its durability and suitability for outdoors, and safety for the public. It is recommended that artwork be more than three feet in height. Work samples should include 1-3 images.

Since 1995, the Greeley Art Commission has solicited art to be on display for one year in public areas and community parks. The Greeley area has a viewing population of nearly 100,000 people. The City currently has twelve spaces to display outdoor sculpture and plans to expand in 2010 with six additional spaces near downtown Greeley businesses. Each year, with citizen input, the City purchases one or more sculptures to be added to the permanent art collection.

A statement about the inspiration for the artwork or other interesting information must be included for the program brochure.
