About This Call
The City of Greeley Art Commission invites artists to submit sculptures for the 2017 Sculpture on Loan Program. Each artist may submit up to 3 sculptures, with multiple images requested for each submission. Submissions should include 1-6 images total.
Artwork must be more than four feet in height and suitable for outdoor placement in Greeley Parks. The Art Commission prioritizes sculptures that cannot be damaged if climbed on, and judging is based on originality, durability, suitability for outdoors, and public safety. Selected artists will receive $900 to cover all transportation, installation, and de-installation costs. Additionally, one $500 People's Choice Award will be given to the artist who receives the highest number of citizen votes at Greeley's Arts Picnic festival in July. The City may purchase one or more sculptures to be added to the permanent art collection, with the Greeley Art Commission retaining a 30% commission on any sculpture sold.
Applications are open to artists nationally. Submissions can be made through CAFÉ or via hard copy with digital images. Visit greeleygov.com to download an application.
