City of Greeley: 2013 Sculpture on Loan Program

The City of Greeley is accepting artist entries for the 17th Annual Sculpture on Loan Program. The program is open to professional and amateur artists of all backgrounds. Each artist may enter up to three works. Judging is based on the originality of the piece, its durability and suitability for outdoors, and safety for the public. It is recommended that artwork be more than three feet in height.

In 1995, the Greeley Art Commission initiated the Sculpture on Loan Program with the placement of three pieces of art in the Downtown area. Each year, the Commission solicits art to be on display for one year in public areas and community parks. The Greeley area consists of a viewing population of nearly 100,000. The City currently has twelve spaces to display outdoor sculpture near downtown Greeley businesses. Each year, with citizen input, the City purchases one or more sculptures to be added to the permanent art collection.

Work sample requirements: Submit 1-3 images. A statement about the inspiration for the artwork or other interesting information must be included for the brochure.
