About This Call
The City of El Paso's Museums and Cultural Affairs Department (MCAD) Public Art Program invites professional artists or artist teams living within El Paso County to submit qualifications for the City of El Paso Development Center interior mural project located at 801 Texas Avenue.
The commissioned artist or artist team will create a mural on the four-story stairwell of the City Development Center. The building houses the following departments: City Development Center (Planning, Building Permits and Inspection, Economic Development, Historic Preservation), Community and Human Development, and Parks and Recreation Administrative Office. Artists must gather research and present an original design reflective of the City Departments located at the site. Artistic themes for design proposals could include abstract, urban, geographic, topographic, and vibrant art.
The total budget for the public art component is $3,750 for design, design development, and fabrication oversight. Applicants must submit 6 images as work samples.
