City of Brighton Sculpture on Loan 2025

Brighton, Colorado seeks artists to participate in the 2025 Sculpture on Loan Project. The call is open to artists nationally with no restrictions on subject matter.

Selected artists agree to place their outdoor sculpture on loan until December 15, 2025. Each artist selected receives a $500 honorarium. Sculptures will be offered for sale to the public at prices determined by the artist, with a 20% commission on sales going to the Eye for Art Program to support the outdoor public art program. One artist will be selected by the Brighton community to receive a $1,000 "People's Choice" cash award. Plaques will be provided for each piece listing the artist, materials, price, and contact information for purchase. Although purchase is not guaranteed, the Eye for Art Committee uses the Sculpture on Loan program as a resource for potential permanent collection acquisitions; ten sculptures from the program have been purchased to date.

Applications are due by midnight on December 15, 2024. Artists will be selected on December 22, 2024, and notified the following week. All sculptures must be available for delivery and installation by January 15, 2025 and remain on display until December 15, 2025. Applicants must submit 1-5 images of their work.
