About This Call
Artists living in the Front Range Corridor are invited to submit qualifications for the Boulder Office of Arts and Culture's Mural Artist Roster. This roster serves as a resource to identify artists most suitable for new artwork commissions, including the Creative Neighborhoods Mural Program. The roster is updated annually and artists currently listed on the roster are invited to reapply.
The Office of Arts and Culture is implementing Boulder's Community Cultural Plan through programs including cultural grants, public art, initiatives for artists, the creative economy, and research. The office seeks to facilitate an alignment in the community around a collective Vision for Culture: Together we will craft Boulder's social, physical, and cultural environment to include creativity as an essential ingredient for the well being, prosperity, and joy of everyone in the community.
Eligibility is open to experienced artists living in the Front Range Corridor region of Colorado and Wyoming regardless of race, color, creed, gender, gender variance, national origin, age, religion, marital status, political opinion or affiliation or mental or physical handicap. Artists working in any media are eligible to apply and are not required to have previous experience in public art. The Front Range Corridor region includes Albany and Laramie counties in Wyoming and the following Colorado counties: Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Clear Creek, Denver, Douglas, El Paso, Elbert, Fremont, Gilpin, Jefferson, Larimer, Park, Pueblo, Teller, and Weld.
Application materials include: a letter of interest (1 page maximum, PDF format) addressing your experience with public art and murals and why you want to be included in Boulder's Mural Artist Roster; 2 to 8 work samples (images, video, or audio files accepted); an image identification list (PDF format) including title, location, date, media, dimensions, and brief project description; and contact information for 3 professional references. Application deadline is October 15, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Selected artists will be notified November 15, 2022. Boulder Office of Arts and Culture does not guarantee that an artist selected for the roster will receive a commission through the Neighborhood Mural Program.
