About This Call
The Boulder Office of Arts and Culture invites experienced artists living in the Front Range Corridor region to submit qualifications for the Mural Artist Roster. This roster serves as a resource to identify artists suitable for new artwork commissions, including the Creative Neighborhoods Mural Program. The roster is updated annually and artists currently listed are invited to reapply.
Eligibility is open to experienced artists living in the Front Range Corridor region of Colorado and Wyoming, regardless of race, color, creed, gender, gender variance, national origin, age, religion, marital status, political opinion or affiliation, or mental or physical handicap. Artists working in any media are eligible; previous experience in public art is not required. The Front Range Corridor region includes Albany and Laramie counties in Wyoming and the following Colorado counties: Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Clear Creek, Denver, Douglas, El Paso, Elbert, Fremont, Gilpin, Jefferson, Larimer, Park, Pueblo, Teller, and Weld.
Application materials include: a letter of interest (1 page maximum, PDF format) addressing your experience with public art and murals and why you want to be included in the roster; 2-8 work samples (images, video, or audio files accepted); an image identification list (PDF) with title, location, date, media, dimensions, and brief project description for each work; and contact information for 3 professional references. The application deadline is April 1, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Selected artists will be notified on April 1, 2021. The Boulder Office of Arts and Culture does not guarantee that roster-selected artists will receive a commission through the Neighborhood Mural Program. For questions, contact Carissa Samaniego Saxton at [email protected].
