City of Aurora, Colorado - Hampden Run Park Public Art RFQ

The City of Aurora is seeking artists for a landscape integrated artwork at Hampden Run Park, a 3-acre neighborhood park situated along a major arterial street and the West Tollgate Creek, a main drainage and greenway corridor in the city. The park facilities include a multi-purpose playfield, playground, picnic area, and a regional pedestrian/bike trail that parallels the creek.

The Project Art Selection Panel has selected a visible corner of the park for the artwork. The placement, east of the regional trail where it joins the Hampden Avenue sidewalk, is intended to draw the attention of passersby while inviting park visitors to interact on a more intimate level. Funding for this project was made possible through the City of Aurora 1% Art in Public Places Ordinance.

Applications must be submitted electronically through CaFÉ at www.callforentry.org. The application deadline is Midnight (MDT) on July 7, 2006. There is no application fee.
