City Foundry STL Mural Proposal

City Foundry STL is a large mixed-use development located in a former Federal-Mogul foundry plant in St. Louis, MO. The development includes restaurants, a large food hall, offices, a grocery store, a movie theater, a rooftop beer garden, and retail. At the center of the development is a 30,000 sq ft Food Hall designed to accommodate up to 20 different food concepts with the goal to "Celebrate St. Louis' Food Talent and Innovation."

The owners have identified three mural commission locations at the entrances to the Food Hall (Location A, Location B, and Location C). Artists may submit proposals for any or all locations. Submissions must include contact information, a brief statement of vision or design intent, a horizontally-oriented display board with a sketch or image representing the design intent, photos of previous work examples, and a compensation proposal that includes all costs (time, materials, scaffolding, and labor).

The selection committee will evaluate submissions based on submittal of all required materials, attention to architectural/historical/geographical/cultural context, originality and creativity of the concept, quality and clarity of the mural design, and appropriateness for an urban pedestrian site. Compensation will be paid on the following schedule: 10% upon artist selection, 15% at commencement of work, 25% at 50% completion, and 50% upon final completion. Artists must provide a W-9 form.
