City Center Art

The City of Greeley is seeking an artist for a public art commission for the new City Center/Municipal Campus Phase I. The building will house Municipal Court, the IT Department, Council Chambers, GTV8, Central Records, and the Water and Sewer department administrative offices, serving as the center of municipal government.

Phase I will be located at the Northwest corner of 11th Avenue and 11th Street. The main entrance will open into a long hallway with wall art sections measuring approximately 20'W x 12'H. One or more of these sections may be utilized by the selected artist. The building's design features brick and glass materials, limestone panels on the east exterior wall facing 11th Avenue, and dark bronze colored formed metal framing the Court Room entrance.

One artist will be selected to collaborate with a project team of architects, engineers, and managers to develop the art design. The artist will be chosen based on past experience with collaborative projects and work appropriate to the site. The budget for artwork design, fabrication, delivery, and installation is not to exceed $60,000. A minimum of two progress reports showing design evolution will be required. Final design work must be original and include all details necessary for fabrication and installation. Once the final design is accepted by the Greeley Art Commission and payment is made, the City will retain all rights to the final design. Building construction may be ready for art installation as early as July 2018. Applicants must submit 3-6 images of their work.
