About This Call
Sanchez Art Center and Citizen Joy are collaborating on an exhibition of art that celebrates democracy. Submissions should reflect on the following themes: What does your government do that brings you joy? (Gratitude); What choices are you able to make that are dear to your heart? (Agency); When do you feel in harmony with your fellow citizens? (Harmony).
This is a juried in-gallery exhibition with physical works displayed in the East Gallery at Sanchez Art Center. Images of selected artworks will also be available online through Sanchez Art Center's virtual galleries, and a print-on-demand catalog will be created for the show. The exhibition can accommodate both 2D and 3D work as well as some video presentations. An artist statement reflecting on the three questions/themes is required for each submitted work as part of the application and jurying process.
Eligibility is open to all California visual artists age 18 and older. Entry fee is $15.00, with an additional $15.00 media fee for additional entries. Submissions should include 1-3 images and/or 0-3 videos (1-3 total samples minimum). Artists will be notified of juror results by Tuesday, November 12, 2024, and must confirm acceptance by Tuesday, November 19, 2024.
