Chroma

Artists are invited to submit original artwork for the 'Chroma' exhibit to be held at the Kavanagh Gallery of Fine Line Creative Arts Center, St. Charles, Illinois. The show is open to all mediums and will be curated by the Kavanagh Gallery Committee. The show will be advertised throughout the Chicagoland area. Fine Line is responsible for show installation, opening reception, and sales. Artists need not be present while the show is open, though attendance at the opening reception is strongly encouraged.

Eligibility and Requirements: Artists must be at least 18 years of age. Up to 3 pieces may be submitted per entry, with one entry allowed per applicant. Artwork must be original, completed in the last 3 years, and not previously shown at Fine Line. All pieces must be for sale. Images must be of the actual work to be exhibited (at least 100kb but no larger than 5mb). An artist statement limited to 1000 characters should be submitted and will be displayed during the show. Entry fee is $35 (non-refundable). Payment must be received by the application deadline of July 22, 2019.

Timeline and Details: Jury notification occurs July 27, 2019. Delivery and check-in is September 3, 2019. The show opens September 6, 2019 with a reception from 6:00-8:00 PM and runs through October 12, 2019 (10 am-5 pm Monday-Saturday). Work pickup/shipping is October 15, 2019. The gallery charges a 30% sales commission on any artwork sold. Fine Line provides insurance coverage from receipt of work until the end of the show at 70% of the sale price. Artists are responsible for shipping insurance. Artwork size when packed cannot exceed 48 inches x 32 inches x 6 feet and cannot exceed 50 pounds. The gallery uses the Walker Display system for wall-hung work; no nails, screws, or saw-tooth hangers are permitted. Awards include one $100 Best of Show award and two non-monetary Awards of Merit.
