Chiaroscuro: The Art of Light and Shadow

Photographers are invited to submit their work to Chiaroscuro: The Art of Light and Shadow, a juried exhibition celebrating the evocative interplay of illumination and darkness. This exhibition explores the timeless power of contrast, highlighting how light and shadow shape emotion, narrative, and visual impact. From dramatic silhouettes to delicate tonal gradations, submissions may capture diverse interpretations of chiaroscuro in photography. The exhibition will be juried by Tom Chambers.

Accepted entries will be shown in an online exhibition from April 15 through June 15, 2025 and then archived on the website. The First Place winner will receive a $300 cash prize and a solo exhibition in the gallery's Featured section. Digital badges will be awarded to all participants, and certificates will be given to First, Second, and Third place entries plus two Honorable Mentions. The exhibition will be promoted on social media, email blasts, and other online sites.

Submit up to 10 images in JPEG or JPG format at 72 dpi with a minimum size of 2100 px on the longest side. Entry fee is $20 for up to 4 images, plus $4 for each additional image. All entries must be received by March 31, 2025. All photographers internationally over 18 are eligible to apply.
