Cherry Hills Village Art Commission

The Cherry Hills Village Art Commission is seeking public art to be loaned or donated for various outdoor locations in the City. The City plans to select, install and rotate selected works on an ongoing basis. Public art pieces will be placed on Cherry Hills Village public land.

Applicants must submit six digital images of previously completed artwork, a resume (no longer than two pages), and a letter of interest of no more than 250 words. Artists may apply as a single artist or multi-person collaboration. The Art Commission will review applicants through an open review process and select one or more finalists who will be asked to prepare and present a final proposal to the Art Commission, which will then present recommendations to the City Council and Mayor for final approval. Artists submitting outdoor kinetic or sound works must also submit a DVD or VHS tape of no more than five minutes to: City of Cherry Hills Village, Public Art Commission, 2450 E Quincy Avenue, Cherry Hills Village, CO 80113.

All applicants are requested to consider long-term conservation and maintenance of public art. Public art projects should be fabricated of highly durable, low-maintenance materials. Finalists are encouraged to consult with a professional conservator prior to submission of a final proposal. There is no application fee. The postmark deadline is July 23, 2012.
