CHEERS! Drink up! Celebrating the Clay Drinking Vessel 2021

This competition invites ceramic artists working in clay to submit original clay drinking vessels created within the last two years. Glazes must be food safe. Any artists working in clay can apply, and the competition is open to international submissions.

Submit 1-4 entries for a non-refundable entry fee of $30. Entries can be all in one category or any mix of the following four categories: Beer, Coffee, Tea, and Spirits (whiskey, cordial, liquor). Only single drinking vessels are accepted; pairs, sets, flasks, and pouring vessels cannot be submitted. Submit one image per entry as a JPEG or JPG under 5MB with a minimum of 1200 pixels on the longest side. Label digital files as: LastNameFirstNameCategory.JPG. Online submission is through CAFÉ at https://callforentry.org. Deadline: May 8, 2021.

Ceramic artist Lorna Meaden will jury entries and select award-winning vessels. Awards include $100 cash for Best of Show and $50 cash awards for Best of Category in each of the four categories. Honorable mention awards will also be selected in each category. Artists will be notified of acceptance or decline by May 25. The exhibition runs July 2 - August 2, 2021 at Commonwheel Artists Co-op, 102 Cañon Avenue, Manitou Springs, Colorado 80829. Accepted artwork must arrive by 6 pm Friday, June 25. All artwork will be for sale during the exhibition, with Commonwheel retaining a 40% commission on sales. Please note that the artwork is displayed in a gallery visited by people of all ages, and extreme, overt mature content may not be displayed.
